In Southeast Asia, commercial ASR tools are unreliable due to heavy slang and accent diversity. Off-the-shelf models struggle with colloquial terms and often misinterpret local place names and speaker intent.
NCS deployed its proprietary speech-to-text engine specialising in the local Singlish accent at a 250-agent call centre in Singapore. The model was trained on actual call recordings and tuned for regional dialects and hybrid sentence structures.
