Securing operational technology for an offshore wind farm

Seatrium, appointed as the Engineering Prime Contractor to build the Offshore Substation of an offshore wind farm project in East Asia, required specialised Operational Technology Security (OTS) expertise. NCS was engaged to provide consultancy to Seatrium, the wind farm owner, and multiple systems suppliers. The NCS team ensured compliance requirements were met, OTS objectives achieved, and hundreds of deliverables developed. Seatrium, a leading offshore engineering company and the Engineering Prime Contractor, required specialised Operational Technology Security (OTS) expertise for a mega project to build a new Offshore Substation – part of a globally sourced offshore wind farm in East Asia. With multiple systems, vendors, and concurrent workstreams, the project demanded expert advisory, careful navigation of complex interdependencies, and timely completion of the OTS workstream without disrupting the construction schedule. The team was also tasked with ensuring compliance with OTS requirements, including ISA/IEC 62443, local regulations, and organisational policies, while producing hundreds of deliverables such as plans, assessments, designs, policies, and manuals.
