Every day, Raiyme Mohamed Salleh works alongside engineers to keep critical IT operations running smoothly. From supporting device deployments to preparing systems for use, he helps ensure teams have the tools and support they need to deliver uninterrupted service.
Having lost his hearing after a serious illness at a young age, Raiyme has learned to navigate a fast-paced workplace differently. Through technology, adaptability and the support of his colleagues, he has grown in confidence and developed his skills while making meaningful contributions to his team.
Turning challenges into strengths
With strong determination, Raiyme overcomes challenges by focusing on his strengths. Over the past 2 years, he has developed deep expertise in device imaging, system patching and asset management, helping to ensure engineers have the tools and support they need to deliver services reliably and efficiently.
Working in a fast-paced IT environment means collaboration is part of everyday life. For Raiyme, that meant finding innovative ways to communicate, contribute and stay connected with his team. In meetings and troubleshooting discussions, he uses the Otter app—an AI tool that generates real-time voice-to-text transcriptions—to follow incident resolutions. When multiple engineers approach him with requests, he relies on a combination of gestures and typed notes to clarify requirements before diving in to solve the technical issues.
Over time, these approaches have become second nature, allowing him to collaborate effectively across teams while continuing to provide operational support. “I have some lip-reading ability and can use sign language gestures,” Raiyme shares. “Some of my colleagues use sign language to show they’re happy or grateful, which always leaves a lasting impression on me.”

Growing through teamwork
Throughout his journey at NCS, Raiyme has benefited from a culture of teamwork, knowledge-sharing and mutual support.
Working closely with his leaders and teammates, he steadily expanded his technical capabilities while taking on greater responsibilities. As his experience grew, so did the role he plays within the team, with colleagues often turning to him for guidance and support.
Having benefited from the support of others, Raiyme now enjoys helping new team members settle into their roles and sharing the knowledge he has gained along the way.
For Raiyme, teamwork is built on mutual support and understanding. Whether learning from colleagues or helping others navigate processes, he believes growth comes from working together and supporting one another with integrity.

Recharging outside of work
Outside the office, Raiyme enjoys spending time with family and focusing on personal wellbeing. A passionate home cook, he frequently prepares healthy Malay and Western dishes after work, something his family always looks forward to.
He also shares his home with Haggis, a British Shorthair cat whose quiet companionship helps him relax after a busy day. On weekends, Raiyme often takes walks along East Coast Road, a place closely tied to his childhood memories and one that helps him reset and recharge.
Whether spending time with family, cooking at home or taking a walk along the coast, these moments help him slow down and appreciate the simple things in life. It's the same steady and positive outlook that continues to guide the way he approaches challenges, supports his teammates and grows in his role at NCS.
