Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior RF Engineer to lead our LTE radio network planning, optimization, radio acceptance testing, and performance monitoring efforts. The ideal candidate will possess experience in LTE networks, with a proven track record in designing and enhancing mobile network coverage and capacity. This role requires in-depth technical knowledge of 3GPP standards, radio network design, and performance optimization. The Senior RF Engineer will also provide technical support to the Service Delivery Manager on RAN and RF related matters.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead RF Professional Services: Deploy LTE radio networks to provide coverage for outdoor, indoor, tunnel, and maritime environments.
- Radio Network Planning and Design: Perform comprehensive radio network planning and design to ensure the highest quality of LTE network performance.Site Surveys: Conduct thorough site surveys to determine optimal site locations and antenna positions,meeting coverage requirements effectively.
- RF Interference Analysis: Analyze and mitigate RF interference to minimize signal degradation and ensure high-quality wireless communication services.
- RF Acceptance Testing: Conduct RF acceptance testing and data collection using RF test tools. Analyze drive/walk test data, identify issues, and develop solutions to optimize network capacity, coverage, and quality of service.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor radio network performance using counter measurement dagenerate performance monitoring reports, and ensure that all radio related KPIs are consistently met.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, diagnose, and optimize technical issues. Provide necessary documentation and reports to customers and internal management.
- Project Delivery: Interface with customers to ensure high-quality project delivery, meeting detailed project requirements and achieving customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Industry Standards and Best Practices: - Stay updated on industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies in RF and RAN engineering to drive continuous improvement and innovation.Team Leadership
- Mentor and lead a team of RF engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the mobile wireless industry, specifically in 3G/4G networks.
- Solid understanding of RF engineering principles, wireless communication systems, and radio access network technologies.
- Experience with wireless network planning, optimization, and performance analysis. Proficiency in radio network planning or optimization tools such as Atoll, Planet, iBwave, NEMO Outdoor, and NEMO Analyzer, or other relevant tools.
- Experience using RF repeaters in the design for coverage extension and a thorough understanding of RF repeater deploying requirements.
- Strong technical knowledge in LTE radio technology and end-to-end network architecture.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
- Familiarity with quality-of-service regulations and 3GPP standard.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and mentoring technical teams.
- Strong team player with the ability to engage in open discussions and collaborate effectively.
- Positive work attitude, self-motivated, and capable of working independently. Ability to work under pressure with minimal guidance and handle emergency situations outside of regular working hours
